The first Test between South Africa and Australia at Gabba has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. According to the two days result, Australia is getting the better of the Proteas by six wickets.
In the first inning, South Africa was bowled out for 152. They were then routed for 99 shortly after tea on Day 2, leaving Australia needing just 34 runs for a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
The questions are now being raised on the state of the pitch after 15 on Day 1 and 19 wickets fell on Day 2. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag joined and tweeted about it you can read his tweet below.
On Twitter Virender Sehwag wrote that "142 overs and not even lasting 2 days and they dare to lecture on what kind of pitches are needed. Had it happened in India, it would have been labeled end of test cricket, ruining test cricket and whatnot. The Hypocrisy is mind-boggling."
South Africa captain Dean Elgar also expressed surprise you can read his statement below.
The Proteas captain told reporters "You've got to ask yourself if that's a good advertisement for our format. 34 wickets in two days, a pretty one-sided affair I would say."
"I don't think it was a very good Test wicket, no."
